Привет всем. Не подскажете ли, с помощью каких механизмов сегодня модно реализовывать трехзвенные (клиент--сервер приложений--сервер БД) приложения? MIDAS или что-нибудь лучше есть?

Интересует какой-нибудь удобный и функциональный набор под Delphi7 (или 6). Моя задача -- снизить сетевой траффик и абстрагироваться от конкретной СУБД (чтобы под IBase, Oracle, MySQL или MSSQL можно было приложение сделать).

второй части задачи не решает =) так бы xml, stream, zlib и вперед =)

понятия не имею

сам я какое-то время назад поэкспериментировал с ASTA1 как минимум из-за реализованной в нем возможности просто и беспроблемно выполнять колбеки - в принципе мне понравилось. Но версия та была еще сырой.
